Four Seasons of Feeling Foreign (2018)

A young Mauritian painter moves to England and learns to adjust to being without her family and the hugely different weather. Even though Autumn and Winter cause her to struggle, we end on a positive note when she experiences snow for the first time.

The four seasons are key in this short experimental film and are visually created by the set design, lighting and the weather. Creating rain, sunshine and snow in conveying all four seasons convincingly.

A woman living her life through an array of disguises is threatened by the appearance of a mysterious stalker who becomes infatuated with her strange behaviour.

This short film relies heavily on production design in creating over five very different characters within one. The use of set design, hair, make-up and costume are essential in portraying the different personalities of the protagonist, Betsy.

A 30 second advert shot on 16mm film, for 'Not On The High Street' which has been entered into the Kodak/Nahemi Student Commercial Competition 2017-2018. 

We are introduced to a little girl's world which revolves solely around labels. Leah labels everything and anything in sight around her home, it's her favourite thing to do. She has the genius idea to label her older brother 'brother', however he gets annoyed and rips up the label in front of his little sister. Because of his actions, Ben decides to buy Leah a present, he gives her a band new label maker from 'Not On The High Street'.

A short documentary based on henna tattoos. We meet three different women who all have a common interest in henna. Jamuna is a British henna artist from Malvern, she explains why henna is important to her and comments on culture appropriation with how it's used in both traditional and none traditional ways. Priyanka is from India and lives in Cardiff, she grew up performing henna as it's part of her Indian culture. She comments on the traditional Indian style of henna and her personal experiences with it. Pam is a British woman who's had a henna crown because she had cancer and lost all her hair. She explains about the experience of having a henna crown and what it signified to her.

An experimental film set underwater. This 90 second short takes you on an underwater journey through the four seasons; Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn, all the while Kim is trying to find her coat she greatly needs for winter, bringing the story full circle.

With every season there is a hair, make-up and costume change, as well as the flowers in the pool changing to represent each season.

A short promotional film for 'K9 Aquafit Ltd.' which is a hydrotherapy pool for dogs. The business is located in Cambridgeshire and is run independently by Julie Swallow.

The video features an array of dogs, gives each of them a brief introduction and explains why they take part in hydrotherapy and the benefit of doing so.

A short sci-fi film based in a little boy's spaceship. The entire set is built from cardboard and the control panels are all recycled, old or reusable objects, such as bottle caps and calculators. The set was also lit primarily by hundreds of fairy lights acting as practicals.
